MWS Mosaic 2025: How it changed my perception of microorganisms!
The Mosaic is a big event at my school when everyone that has an after-school club (\Basketball Club, for example) shows their skills in many ways, like doing a presentation, displaying their projects in an exhibition, having a sport match, and using their skills to coach parents. Other than that, the Mosaic has a fair that has drinks, food, and even sushi, for some reason. The Mosaic lasted for a few days: Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
I joined three clubs this year, STEM, basketball, and debate. That's why I had to participate in three events: a STEM workshop, a debate showcase, and a basketball match.
While I enjoyed all three, I liked the STEM workshop the most. In that workshop, we had various experiments to learn the benefits of microorganisms. You might think that all microorganisms are harmful. I used to think the same! MEvery time I heard the word "microorganism," my mind immediately went to the COVID-19 virus. But through the workshop, I discovered that some microorganisms are actually helpful to humans. For example, they’re used to make tempeh, yogurt, and even bread. If you're curious to learn more, I’ve created a summary on Canva. You can find out more about them in my presentation, which I provided down below.
